Obituary for Florence Yutzey

Florence Yutzey
Florence V. Yutzey, age 92 of Sheridan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Sheridan Community Hospital.

She was born the daughter of William & Velma (Thibideau) Morrison on March 28, 1924 in Middleton. Florence is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; son-in-law, Jerry Skilling; brothers, John Morrison, Leo Morrison and Dale Morrison; sisters-in-law, Donna Morrison and Cleo Morrison.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Christine Skilling of Stanton; granddaughters, Jackie (Joel) Raymond of Stanton, Kimberly (David) Kraus of Farmington Hills, Michelle (Mark) Lichtman of Commerce Township; great grandchildren, Justin Raymond, Jenna Raymond, A.J. Kraus, Madi Kraus, Max Kraus, Bennett Kraus, Zac Lichtman, Hope Lichtman, Maggie Lichtman and Chase Lichtman; sister-in-law, Gloria Lamey of Sheridan and many nieces and nephews.

In April of 1993, Florence retired from Sheridan Clinic where she had worked for over 40 years. Not being one to sit around, Florence quickly found plenty to do volunteering thousands of hours with various groups such as the Sheridan VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Sheridan Community Hospital and the Stanton First Congregational Church where she was an active member. Florence touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation with Florence’s family will be on Monday, February 27, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan.

A memorial service is being held on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Stanton First Congregational Church beginning at 11 AM with Pastor Jamey Nichols officiating.

For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Florence’s memory the family suggests donations be made to either the Stanton First Congregational Church or to Cannonsville Critters. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
