Obituary for Birdie Dalton

Birdie Dalton
Birdie C. Dalton, age 81 of Sheridan, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Sheridan Community Hospital.

She was born the daughter of Bud & Martha (Greenhoe) McConnell on June 19, 1935 in Sheridan. They along with her husband Bob and daughter, Sandy Knight have preceded her in death.

Birdie is survived by her daughter, Jan (Larry) Matson of Sheridan; granddaughters, Bridget (Mike) Bigler of Lakeview, Heather (Steve) Jacoby of Greenville, Kendra Balcome of Stanton, Missy (Rocky) Studley of Stanton; Anettria Knight of Stanton; twelve great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Wolverton of Sheridan, Bonnie Guenther of Grattan; brother, Dave (Marty) McConnell of Sheridan; brother and sisters-in-law, Donna Dalton of Hubberston, Ruthann Dalton of Panama City, Florida and Mike & Linda Dalton of Hubberston and son-in-law, George Knight of Stanton.

To say Birdie loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren would be an understatement. She enjoyed spending time with them and they could always brighten up her day. Birdie also enjoyed watching NASCAR races, where she was a very loyal Rusty Wallace fan and was also a big Dallas Cowboys fan. She also enjoyed reading various books and really enjoyed her subscription to Sports Illustrated.

Visitation with Birdie’s family will be on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Simpson Family Funeral Home in Sheridan from 10 – 11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM with Pastor Danny Stoneham officiating. Birdie will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery next to her husband Bob.
